My photographic work
involves the careful manipulation of the photographic image in the camera,
darkroom, and some digital to bring a new perspective to the lover of fine
art photography. Though I will never leave my roots of photography, I have
found my new love: clay. As a child I never enjoyed playing in the mud,
but as an adult I can’t get enough of it. From the feel of the clay in
your hands as you mold it into its new form, the excitement as you open
the kiln to see your results is incredible to say the least. Now devoting
my time to the study of raku is more exciting than ever. The instant
gratification that comes with this process makes the ceramic art even more
enjoyable than it already is. It just keeps getting better each time we
fire.
Art has always been
apart of my life. It has sustained me in the good times of my live and the
bad times as well. The important thing to remember is, to find what you
want to do in life and then go for it. Then do it to the fullest. Remember
you are the only roadblock in your life. The only advice my dad ever gave
me was, “you’ll never know till you try”.

My studies over the
years have revolved around many different fields. But the one I most
enjoy, is the arts. The enjoyment that one gets out of life is dictated by
oneself and not the world around us, or by any artificial means. Each of
us needs to get excited about life in our own distinct way, finding
something that moves you in a positive way, and then acting on it
I find that there is a
direct relationship between the field of art and that of psychology, both
require one, to be open and free to self expression, so that they may
allow themselves to find their greatest potential. When we allow
ourselves, the freedom to explore and enjoy life, we open the window to a
brighter world, where we can see how wonderful our God has blessed us.
Enjoy the journey of
life, and see it with your heart.
